With the incorporation of technology, from managing
patient’s records in databases to online consultation, healthcare sector has
evolved highly through these years. The internet has been a steady source of
medical data previously and as of now it is being utilized for online private
patient-doctor consultation. Online consultation has secured a stability in the
market as people are substituting a visit to a doctor with an online option.
Online consultation is the need of hour in such a pandemic. Here, in this
project I have come up with an android application for online consultation and
purchase of medicines. The main aim of this project is to make healthcare
services more accessible, safe and convenient. This app, named MediPro ensures that people
receive quality healthcare services sitting at home. The services provided by
this app are online consultation with specialist doctors and online purchase of
medicines.
The flow of the app is as shown below:
Just like other apps like facebook, instagram, linkedin etc, this app follows the same procedure for creating an account. After successful creation of an account, the user will be able to access the services provided by this app. This app provides a platform for online consultation and online purchase of medicines. For consultation, there is a list of specialist doctors. On selecting the specialist doctor, another page opens showing a list of
doctors with their profiles in that specialization. The user gets a wide range
of options to choose from. Moreover, the user can book an appointment or call or message the doctor as required. For buying medicines, the user gets a list of medicines with their prices. The user can select the required medicines from the list and the total amount would be displayed. Then, the user would be directed to the online payment gateway service.
I have just made a prototype of this app to implement my idea using MIT app inventor. Below are the screenshots of various screens of the app.
